mr. pike pulled out all the pieces and instructions - and started to work. however, the directions and illustrations weren't quite so clear. what we didn't realize is that you'd need a ph.d. to figure out how to put the swing together.
it became a true test - who was smarter, the swing or us. i told mr. pike if we could put it together, then we were ready to be parents. fortunately, the swing didn't get the best of us. (but it did take us 45minutes to figure it out.)
now that's it's successfully assembled (minus the batteries we need to buy), mr. pike and i are officially ready to be parents. someone just needs to tell baby girl that.

You should have seen Jeff's mom and I putting together the kiddie picnic table set the other night so his nieces and nephew would have a play table when they got here. It almost got the better of us!
a swing is the most wonderful thing a new parent can have. I'm very glad you and Mr. Pike didn't let the swing win. You got the best of it and in the very near future baby girl will be getting the best of it too:)
Sam didn't care of the swing too much. I'm just lucky that he is normally a pretty happy, easygoing fellow (not sure how I ended up with a kid like that. He doesn't get it from either parent). The instruction manual for baby girl will be less helpful than the instruction manual for her new swing!
