caught red handed
when she thought we weren't looking, baby girl took matters into her own hands. she became a self-soother.
i felt proud of baby girl and realized this could be the end to multiple runs back into her room to return the pacifier to her mouth that she'd spit out and then cry for. mr. pike said, "should we stop her? i'd hate for this to lead to braces."
"well, mr. pike -- i think she was doomed to get braces when she chose this family to come to."
we sat watching her and decided to let her keep her fingers. (we're still waiting to see if she sticks with the thumb or her index finger. she likes to switch between the two.)

Thank goodness! the running back and forth would get old quickly. Tell Mr. Pike that there's still hope, she only has baby teeth to ruin so far, and hopfully when her real ones come in she won't be sucking her thumb anymore!
that's so cute...by boys never like to suck on anything
I think regardless on genetics, nearly all kids get braces these days!
I sucked my thumb until I was 7 and I am the only child in my family with perfectly straight and evenly spaced teeth--so you never know!
ack! She's so cute. And so much hair.
