we've returned from our trip to california -- the first time in four years that all the pikes have been together. and this time around there are a few new additions to the family -- including baby girl and her cousin baby girl nevers, who is just two days younger than her.we feel that they must be kindred spirits -- their temperaments are very similar. and their cries are almost identical. and they both have a full head of hair.
while we were all together, baby girls pike and nevers were also given their names and blessed.
it was a beautiful moment to have these two sweet babies together, each surrounded by the men who love them. baby girl pike wore the same dress i did -- and i think she looked a lot like me on that day. (most days i can't decide who she looks like.)
also, while we were all together, we ventured out to a dodgers game. ever since the first time i watched better off dead, i have always wanted to go to a game. after 20+ years of waiting, i made it! unfortunately, without a black camero or johnny riding after us for his two dollars.
it ended up not being the dodgers best game -- the marlins won. manny's groove was off. but a good time nonetheless for the pike clan. mr. pike found tickets on stubhub.com for $3.99 each. (we buy all of our baseball tickets from this site -- there are some great deals there.)
the time always goes too fast when you're with family. and now we're back home.
