holiday treats -- first installment

i am all about holiday treats this year. i want to make them, buy them, eat them. i'm not all greedy though, mr. pike and i do have intentions to give some away.

the holidays seem like the perfect time to make all those decadent recipes i know better than to make through out the year. the ones that you know will add an extra 20 pounds to your figure, sure to give you a few extra cavities -- but, oh, how heavenly they taste! and now i have an excuse to indulge, without feeling too guilty! 'tis the season, right?!

there are so many delicious treats i want to share, i know that this will be the first of several entries over the next few weeks.
my first picks! from trader joe's.

CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT DELIGHTS
i love chocolate and i love hazelnuts. mr. pike and i brought a box of these to my sister's home at thanksgiving. and it was really hard for us to not eat them all in one sitting! so delicious. only $3.99 for 7.05 oz.

CANDY CANE JOE JOE'S
they may look like oreos but they taste so much better. the center creme is filled with crushed candy canes, giving the cookie just the right amount of peppermint flavor. they are so good, mr. pike and i finished off the box in just a few days. (they're on my grocery list for this week, too!) we love these treats with a cup of cocoa or glass of milk. i can't remember how much a box is, but they're worth it. and you can only get candy cane joe joe's this time of year -- so enjoy them while you can!

The candy cane Joe Joes are so tasty! After we had a box I went and sent them to my all my family members who don't live near a Trader Joe's. Gotta love that store. Happy holiday eating! :)
