i'm a recipe reader. i love looking for new recipes. i love trying new recipes. so i'm often surfing different food blogs to get new ideas. one such blog i frequent is prudence pennywise.
a few days ago, i was sifting through her entries and came across chocolate oatmeal almost candy bars. (recipe posted on confectiona's realm.) i committed right then and there to make them once i went to the store for peanuts.
this is a tuesday with dorie recipe. and i must confess that i didn't know who this dorie was or that a million people bake and blog with her every tuesday. so, i googled ms. dorie greenspan and discovered that she is one experienced cook. (please forgive me for my ignorance, foodies and ms. greenspan.)
i have a recipe similar to this one -- minus the peanuts, cinnamon, and raisins. but, i do like the addition of these elements. it makes for a delicious treat! it has a sweet and salty, chewy and crunchy texture. you really should give this one a try. really -- i mean it.
mr. pike and i have a hard time restraining ourselves from eating just one piece at a time. they are definitely worth the effort!
