on the road

here it is . . . . the moment we've been waiting for.  it's hard to know yet if it's excitement or anxiety that we're feeling.  but we've loaded up the car, put the two little ones in the carseats, and are off on a 20+-hour car trip.


i can only hope that all the ideas to keep the kids busy and happy that i've collected over the past few weeks aren't depleted in the first few hours.  we're going to stay positive -- and mr. pike said if that fails, we can pick up earplugs.
