a chicago dog

a polish dog from Jim's
you can see jim's hot dog stand from 90/94, just south of the city.  we've passed this stand many times over the past four years, and i've always wanted to stop.  it looked like a real chicago establishment.

and once we moved to the city, jim's was only a mile or so from our home.  but, it still took us four months to stop by.

little girl likes her dog plain
when asked if mr. pike and i wanted everything on our polish sausages, i didn't want to look wimpy.  i said, "of course!" but at jim's this means you'd like sauerkraut and mustard with hot peppers on the side.  a little different than some of the topping fanfare you might get at other chicago stands.  it was simple and good.  yummy fries, too.  (although, we're still bigger fans of j dawg's.  that secret sauce to to die-for!)

and we relived our outing every time we got in our car over the next three days.  the dog smell sure lingered.  that's a good chicago eat.
