old-time radio listening

mr. and mrs. pike don't have a TV. but we do have library cards, which have replaced cable TV, Barnes & Noble, and Blockbuster. the library has become our entertainment super center!

mr. pike and i like listening to books on tape on long car rides, and i planned on picking up a few books on tape for our trip to idaho. in the audio section, i stumbled across a selection of old radio detective stories. the collection featured stories from the radio series Dragnet, Nero Wolfe, Sam Spade, and Philip Marlowe. it boasted 20 hours of sleuthing, and i was eager to hear a few who done its.

all are classic detective tales worth listening to. we liked the feeling of being transported back to faded years when radio was king. we recommend a listening.
