time at the fair

the 80th lake county fair was this weekend. mr. pike and i didn't want to miss the excitement - eating greasy fair fare, enjoying a few stomach spinning rides, visiting with the livestock.

mr. pike was especially fond on the pigs - several that were sure to weigh at least 800 lbs. our tour in the swine pavilion made us think of fair classics charlotte's web and state fair. and these memories inspired us to be more than spectators.

next year i think i'll enter the domestic arts, culinary arts, or crafts contests in the hopes for blue ribbon victory. i think i'll even get mr. pike to enter the photography contest. maybe we'll be double winners.

another favorite event at the fair was the tractor pull. i had never seen anything like this before - a souped-up tractor trying to pull hundreds of pounds behind it. we've videoed a scene of it for your viewing pleasure.
