granola bars that all like

to get us through the work day, mr. pike and i enjoy a good granola bar. we especially love the heartiness of nature's valley trail mix granola bar.

today i went into our little pantry and pulled out a box of our favorite treat to refill our treat jar. the large box had been opened a week or two before to fill the jar, and returned to the pantry. as i opened the box, i reached in and began grabbing bars. i had put five bars in the jar when i came across this one. at first i thought, there's a lack of quality control at the factory. but then i realized there is some thing else that also likes our favorite granola bars.

this summer, we had invested in plastic bins to put groceries that might easily attract bugs and creatures. but, thinking that the packaging of the granola bar was a strong deterrent, i put the box in the pantry on its own.

now we have a friend living with us. mr. pike was good enough to clean out the pantry and look for the entry spot of our guest. with that found, we now must decide what to do with our friend.

Get a cat. My family has always had a cat and we've never had rodent problems, except when the cat decided to catch a field mouse and drop the still living mouse on the living room floor just to be funny. Even if your cat is well fed, he will still hunt. Our cats have always hunted even though they get plenty of cat food.
