 i really love grilled cheese.  i really do.  what could be better than  buttery bread and melted cheese!  and then there are a slew of fillings  to add in -- bacon, sliced tomatoes, sauted onions and mushrooms, granny  smith apple slices, etc.  i love it all.
i really love grilled cheese.  i really do.  what could be better than  buttery bread and melted cheese!  and then there are a slew of fillings  to add in -- bacon, sliced tomatoes, sauted onions and mushrooms, granny  smith apple slices, etc.  i love it all.so,  when mrs. jones chose ina's ultimate grilled cheese, i was all too ready to  give it a try.  i followed the recipe exactly -- except i only used  about 2 T. of dijon mustard in the sauce.  (that's all i had.)  and i  used low sodium bacon, cooked in the microwave.
 
mr. pike and little girl were oohing and aahing. (little girl's sandwich was minus the bacon. i'm not sure why she's not a fan.) we liked the tangy spread between the sharp cheddar and gruyere cheese and crunchy bacon.
