happy father's day, mr. pike!
i wanted to take a picture today of mr. pike with the kids. but we didn't get around to it before mr. pike and little girl headed to the emergency room. and this is the only one i have of the three of them. so it'll have to do for today -- even though it's not our best group shot.
mr. pike deserves a big thank you today. not only is he a wonderful husband and father, he is also calm in the face of crisis. we were chatting away with mr. pike's family on skype this evening, when we noticed little girl picking her nose. but, she wasn't really picking her nose; she had just stuck one (maybe two) buttons up her nostrils.
after a few failed attempts with tweezers and blowing through little girl's mouth, we decided it was time to head to the emergency room. mr. pike took little girl, and i stayed home with baby boy. this isn't our first emergency room visit with little girl -- she's been twice now and she's only two years old. (and we hope this isn't to become an annual excursion.)
but, while i'm home with a sleeping baby, mr. pike is most likely trying to calm a scared little girl who's being restrained during a button-removal procedure. he is strong, selfless, and steady. and i'm glad he's a part of my life.
thank you, mr. pike, for all that you do as a father, husband, and friend. we love you!
