a raffi tradition

when i was five, i got my first casette tape -- a collection of raffi songs. one of which was baby beluga. i loved that tape and listened to it constantly.

i was only too excited when little girl received a copy of this book as a gift when she was born. what a flood of memories returned to me as i read through the illustrated version of this song.

we've been reading/singing this book to little girl for two years now, and she has it down pretty well. i caught a bit of her and mr. pike singing before bedtime. the raffi tradition continues . . . .

We grew up with Raffi, too. I've been slowly collecting the albums of his that we listened to (constantly) as kids so that my kids can learn to love him and the classic children's songs he sings, too.
