at the beginning of the month, both mr. pike's and my parents came out to see us and be here for baby boy's blessing. in our church, babies aren't baptized but are given a blessing for their life.
mr. pike gave a beautiful blessing. some of the blessings given to baby boy include to have a generous heart; a keen sense of right and wrong; to be an honorable missionary, son, and father; and that his example and influence will help others.
i already feel and see some of those blessings in baby boy's character. he is a gentle and calm baby (unless he's starving!). he's not very old, but baby boy is so gracious to others by giving what he can right now -- lots of warm smiles, babbling, laughs. he's such a sweet boy.
on his blessing day, baby boy wore an outfit of dad dad's. it's amazing what a soak in oxiclean can do for a 70+ year-old baby romper.
